Your Portfolio is Your Engine

Every tattoo you upload to InkFreakz is an opportunity to be discovered. The quality of your uploads directly affects your search visibility, engagement score, and eligibility for the Viral Leaderboard and Featured Archive.

Image Quality Standards

InkFreakz is a professional platform. Low-quality images damage your profile and reduce your chances of being featured. Follow these standards:

  • Resolution: Minimum 1000px on the shortest side. 2000px+ recommended.
  • Format: JPG or PNG. No watermarks from other platforms.
  • Lighting: Well-lit, no harsh shadows obscuring the tattoo detail
  • Focus: Sharp focus on the tattoo. Blurry images will not be considered for featuring.
  • Background: Clean background preferred. Avoid cluttered or distracting environments.

Healed vs. Fresh

Clearly indicate in your description whether the tattoo is fresh (just completed) or healed. Healed photos show the true final result and are preferred for the Featured Archive. Including both fresh and healed photos of the same piece is excellent practice.

Writing Effective Descriptions

Your description is indexed for search. Write naturally but include:

  • The style (e.g. "Japanese traditional sleeve")
  • The subject matter (e.g. "koi fish, cherry blossoms")
  • Technique details (e.g. "hand-poked", "single needle", "colour realism")
  • Body placement (e.g. "full sleeve", "rib piece", "behind the ear")

Tagging Styles Correctly

Select all styles that accurately describe the tattoo. Do not tag styles that do not apply — this dilutes your profile and misleads clients searching for specific styles.

What Gets Flagged or Removed

The following will result in content removal and may affect your account standing:

  • Explicit or graphic content without appropriate content warnings
  • Watermarked images from other platforms (Instagram, etc.)
  • Work that is not your own
  • Stock images or AI-generated images presented as tattoo work
  • Images of minors
