What is the Viral Leaderboard?

The InkFreakz Viral Leaderboard is a weekly ranking of the most-engaged tattoo posts on the platform. It resets every week, giving every verified artist a fresh opportunity to reach the top — regardless of how long they have been on the platform.

How the Ranking Algorithm Works

Each tattoo post receives an engagement score based on the following signals:

  • Views — How many unique users have viewed the tattoo
  • Likes — Direct engagement from users
  • Saves — Users saving your work to their collections (high-intent signal)
  • Shares — Users sharing your work externally
  • Profile visits — Views of your profile generated from the tattoo post

Saves and shares carry more weight than views alone — they signal genuine interest rather than passive scrolling.

When Does It Reset?

The leaderboard resets every Monday at midnight UTC. All engagement scores return to zero and the ranking starts fresh. This means a tattoo posted on Sunday has less time to accumulate score than one posted on Monday.

How to Optimise Your Posts

  • Post early in the week — Monday or Tuesday posts have the most time to accumulate engagement
  • Write detailed descriptions — More descriptive posts appear in more search results, driving organic views
  • Use all relevant style tags — Broader tagging increases discovery surface area
  • Share your InkFreakz post link on your social media to drive external traffic
  • Post consistently — Regular uploads keep your profile active in the explore feed

Eligibility Requirements

To appear on the Viral Leaderboard, your account must be verified. Unverified artists are not eligible. Additionally, tattoos that violate Community Guidelines are automatically excluded.

Leaderboard vs. Featured Archive

The Viral Leaderboard is algorithmic and resets weekly. The Featured Archive is a curated, permanent record — being featured there is a separate, editorial process. High leaderboard performance can increase your chances of being considered for featuring, but they are independent systems.
